Flooring, Tile & Carpet

Tile, luxury vinyl plank and carpet — laid over a subfloor that was actually prepared, and set out so the awkward cuts land where nobody looks.

Two things decide whether a floor looks professional: what is underneath it, and where the first tile goes. Skip the subfloor prep and large-format tile will lippage at every joint. Start the layout from the wrong wall and you finish with a two-inch sliver of tile down the most visible edge of the room.

We dry-lay and plan the layout before anything is fixed, so you see where the cuts land before they are permanent. It costs an extra hour and it is the difference between a floor that looks installed and one that looks designed.

Common questions

Things people ask before they call

Do we need to move out?

No, but you will need the rooms empty. We can work room by room so you always have somewhere to live, which stretches the schedule a little but is usually worth it.

Can you lay new tile over the old floor?

Sometimes, and we will tell you honestly when it is a bad idea. It raises floor height at every doorway and it inherits any movement in the old floor. Nine times out of ten, taking it up is the right call.

Who supplies the material?

Either. Most customers pick their own and we install; we are happy to come to the tile shop with you and check that what you have chosen will actually work in the space.

What about thresholds between rooms?

Where the same tile runs through, we plan the layout so it continues without a break. Where materials change, we will show you the transition options before we order.
