Drywall Repair & Installation

Patches, water damage, popcorn removal and full hangs. The whole job is judged on one thing: whether you can find the repair afterwards.

Drywall is the trade where the difference between good and bad work is invisible for about a month. A rushed patch looks fine under primer and then telegraphs through the paint as soon as the light changes — a flat spot, a ridge, a halo around the repair.

Getting it right is unglamorous: wider coats than feel necessary, proper dry time between them, sanding to a feathered edge that runs well past the patch, and matching the existing texture before any paint goes near it. That is most of what you are paying for.

What’s included

  • Patches and holes, from doorknob dents to whole sheets
  • Water and storm damage — cut back to sound material, re-hung, refinished
  • Popcorn and texture removal, then a smooth or matched finish
  • Full hangs on new build, additions and garage conversions
  • Level 5 finish where the lighting is unforgiving
  • Texture matching — knockdown, orange peel, smooth

Before & after

The same room, from the same spot

We mark the floor before we start so the after photo is taken from exactly where the before was. Drag the handle.

Before: open plan kitchen at drywall stage with the crew finishing joints After: the same kitchen finished with an island, cabinetry and wood flooring Before After

Kitchen build-out

Drywall through to a finished kitchen

Hung, taped and floated to a Level 5 finish, then painted and handed over for cabinetry.

Common questions

Things people ask before they call

Can you tell me what it costs from a photo?

Usually yes, within a reasonable range. Text a picture of the damage to (941) 260-1311 with the rough size and we will come back to you the same day. It saves us both a trip if it turns out to be a ten-minute job.

Will the repair be visible afterwards?

That is the entire job. If you can find the patch once it is painted, we have not finished. Texture matching on older knockdown is the hardest part and we will tell you honestly upfront if a wall is going to need feathering out further than you expected.

Do you paint afterwards as well?

Yes — and for a repair in the middle of a wall we will normally recommend painting corner to corner rather than spot-priming. A patch under a spot-paint always shows in raking light.

How much mess does popcorn removal make?

A lot, which is why we tent the room, mask everything and scrape wet rather than dry. Older ceilings can contain asbestos — if the house predates 1985 we will recommend a test before anyone starts scraping.
